1775 Nylander Map. “Estates Adjoining the Great Country Road.” This map was commissioned by the Weston Historical Commission in 1974 prior to the U.S. Bicentennial and was made by Robert H. Nylander using property deeds. Nylander also did a 1783 version.

1794 Kingsbury Map. This map of Weston by Jonathan Kingsbury Jr. was made from surveys made in 1785, 1794, 1795, and 1796 and is generally referred to as the 1794 map. It was discovered among town records and copied in the office of Ernest W. Bowditch in 1891. A reproduction was inserted into each copy of the Town of Weston Tax Lists, published in 1897. In the “Errata” section of that book, Mary Francis Peirce noted that “Dan’l Pratt” should read “Paul Pratt,” that the southeast schoolhouse should have been shown on the east side of the triangle south of J. Stimpson, and that the house of Thomas Brown was omitted on the road northward from the widow Hastings. In other writings, Miss Peirce expressed her belief that the surveyor had omitted houses along Boston Post Road.
